HSE-FLS Principles

We aim to implement, actively promote, and practice fit-for-purpose Occupational Health, Safety, Environment, and Fire Life Safety (HSE-FLS) Management Systems and conduct business that safeguards people, assets, communities and the environment.

We strive to comply and continuously improve conformity with the relevant
laws and regulations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; whilst drawing from and applying the latest applicable industry codes and standards.

We aim to achieve our goals through the deployment of the following principles and practices:

1. Development, implementation, adoption, monitoring, and continuous improvement of KAFD’s HSE-FLS codes, strategy, and plans, promoting leadership and employee engagement.
2. Ensure the protection of all physical assets and environments, whilst securing the wellbeing of all persons who interact, occupy, utilize, and/or visit areas and spaces throughout KAFD.
3. Undertake regular HSE-FLS risk assessments and environmental evaluations of all KAFD assets, such as buildings,
facilities, and environments to prevent and avoid risks, threats and hazards and ensure compliance with required
codes and standards.
4. Proactively communicate, consult and engage with stakeholders, including employees, contractors, tenants, local
authorities and agencies on HSE-FLS matters.
5. Ensure that all employees and certified persons that participate in HSE-FLS prevention and protection activities receive the necessary briefing and training prior to the start of the assigned duty, with all training records being maintained.
6. Commit to protecting the environment through the prevention of pollution and the promotion of sustainable resource use, climate change mitigation, and other environmental protection initiatives.
7. Develop HSE-FLS objectives and targets and continual improvement methods based on proactive risk management aimed to periodically monitor, measure, and audit performance identifying opportunities for enhancing effectiveness and impact.
